Elizabeth Wood ’10
Since her childhood, philanthropy has been an important value for Elizabeth "Lisa" Wood:
"As kids, we were taught to donate to our church and be involved in community volunteer work. My parents also supported local charities and the local community foundation."
Wood earned a paralegal degree from MCC in 2010. "I appreciate that MCC is accessible to anyone from any stage of life," she said. Wood, along with her husband, are both committed to supporting students with disabilities through generous annual contributions to the Michael R. Wood Memorial Scholarship, named for their son. They witnessed firsthand how MCC made a difference for Michael:
"Mike attended MCC when his four-year college program was interrupted by illness. MCC was invaluable in helping him gradually resume the challenges of his college career. We are proud to have a great resource like MCC that meets students' varying needs in our community."
Beyond MCC, Wood is an active volunteer in the community, serving as treasurer of the National Alliance of Mental Illness - Manchester and volunteering at her church.
