Sadia Afrin, CT State Manchester student

As the eldest of my parent’s children, I balance being a student with my family responsibilities and working part-time. From the help available in the academic learning center, to the dedicated faculty and the tuition support I have received, I have found a supportive community at MCC and I am on track to graduate with my associate’s degree in psychology this fall.

I am incredibly grateful for the tuition assistance that MCC Foundation donors have made possible for students like me. While this assistance has alleviated my financial burden and allowed me to focus more on my studies, it has also had a more profound impact on my experience as a student at MCC.

Realizing that there are kind people who give of their own resources to make higher education affordable has given me renewed faith that there is kindness around us and strengthened my resolve to make a difference in the lives of others.

I am determined to continue my education with the hope of making meaningful contributions to the field of psychology. I am deeply grateful for the generosity of others that has become a part of my journey. Thank you!
