MCC Foundation Honors Donors and Volunteers in Spring Anniversary Celebration

2023 marked MCC’s is 60th anniversary, and MCC Foundation’s 55th anniversary. In celebration of these significant milestones and the community that made them possible, MCC Foundation hosted an appreciation event that brought together over 120 individuals, including staff, faculty, retirees, Foundation directors, students, volunteers, and generous donors.

Guests met and  reconnected with others who share a passion for supporting MCC. Among the attendees were five remarkable individuals who were recognized for their outstanding dedication to MCC.

MCC Foundation Director of the Year: Michael B. Lynch Jr

Mike has served on the Board for 19 years. His roles have included Foundation President and Treasurer, along with Chair of Campaign 2020, a successful capital campaign that raised over $12 million dollars. The Foundation has relied his thoughtful leadership and recognizes his contributions as an outstanding community leader.

Foundation Benefactor of the Year: Rockville Bank Community Foundation

Rockville Bank Community Foundation has been one of our most faithful and generous donors for nearly two decades. They have invest not only in an endowed scholarship at the Foundation but also make critical investments in emergency student aid and and allied health programs that will have a profound impact on many students’ lives.

Alumni Benefactor of the Year award: Elizabeth Wood ’10

Lisa grew up in a family committed to community service and philanthropy. At MCC, she has lived these values by establishing the Michael Wood Memorial Scholarship. Lisa and her husband Alex generously support the scholarship annually. By her example, Lisa has taught others the importance of philanthropy in a community college setting and the impact it can have on student lives.

Volunteer of the Year: John Toomey ’74

John has been instrumental in planning and leading opportunities that benefit alumni and students and foster a sense of community among graduates. His passion for ensuring students have access to career-related workshops and resume reviews has been an invaluable tool for students preparing for employment.

Alumni Volunteer of the Year: Kristine Moulard ’15 ’17

Kristine has been an active member of the MCC Alumni Association for nine years. She currently serves on the Alumni Planning Committee where she rarely misses a meeting and has volunteered at virtually every alumni event and activity since 2015. Her contributions have fostered new connections among our alumni community and strengthened the association. 

As MCC celebrates its 60th anniversary and the MCC Foundation marks its 55th anniversary, these exceptional individuals remind us of the profound impact that collective support and dedication have on the success and growth of our community.
